"Lt. Dick Winters in Normandy"
By Jared Frederick
12 x 16 Giclée Canvas Prints
Signed Limited Edition Prints

Jared is pleased to present a limited edition print of the late Major Dick Winters (1918 - 2011) as a signed limited edition print. Winters, who achieved much notoriety following the release of the book and subsequent miniseries Band of Brothers, is now probably one of the best known American officers who served in the Second World War. On June 6, 1944 Winters led a squad of his 101st Airborne paratroopers in an assault on German artillery at Brecourt Manor. Attacking and dismantling the heavy guns undoubtedly saved American infantrymen landing on nearby Utah Beach. Sergeant William "Wild Bill" Guarnere noted of his commander: "Winters turned out to be a great leader in combat. He called all the shots, and we followed his orders. He was quick, smart, efficient, resourceful, intuitive, fearless. . . I knew after the bullets came in that day, and what we did at Brecourt, we had a good commander leading us. You knew you could follow Winters anywhere" (Guarnere and Heffron, Brothers in Battle, Best of Friends, 70-71).

Ironically completed on the same day Jared learned of Winters' passing, this limited edition print is a fitting tribute to an officer well known for his courage and humility. All prints are signed by Jared and can be personalized to the customer's wishes.

"I'll Lead You This Time"
Custer at Hunterstown - The Gettysburg Campaign
July 2, 1863
By Jared Frederick
16 x 20 Giclée Canvas Prints
50 signed and numbered Limited Edition Prints

The Battle of Hunterstown was a strategic cavalry engagement in Adams County, Pennsylvania, on July 2, 1863, during the Gettysburg Campaign of the American Civil War. In recent years, the engagement has been referred as the North Cavalry Field of the Battle of Gettysburg.

Four miles northeast of Gettysburg, two brigades of Union cavalry from Judson Kilpatrick’s division under George Armstrong Custer and Elon J. Farnsworth were probing for the end of the Confederate left flank. Custer collided with Wade Hampton's Confederates on the road between Hunterstown and Gettysburg. Before charging into the fray, Custer exclaimed to his men, "I'll lead you this time, boys!" In the swirling fighting, Custer's horse was shot from under him as Confederates approached. He was saved only by the timely intervention of his orderly, Norvell Churchill.

On July 2, 2008, a marble and bronze monument honoring Custer was unveiled and dedicated. Jared Frederick was asked to create the official battle painting of Hunterstown for this ceremony on the 145th anniversary. It is the first time in history that the event has been portrayed through art.
